Its quaternary ammonium compounds dissolve the cell membranes of bacteria and destroy the protective capsules of viruses, both hydrophilic and lipophilic. Isopropanol enhances the action of quaternary ammonium compounds, while glutaraldehyde acts by blocking enzymatic activity and denaturing proteins.<x id=\"gid_4\"><\/x>The product is easily soluble in water and stable at normal use concentrations.
