AfiLab is an innovative milk component analyzer that measures and indicates milk composition in an integrated, real-time manner for each cow milked. The system continuously collects data, providing vital information to improve decision-making by the farm manager.

Advantageous Measurements

AfiLab measures fat, protein, and lactose content, and indicates the presence of blood above a predetermined threshold. This analysis allows for optimizing feeding and monitoring and alerting users to nutritional or feeding problems. The device’s online analysis of milk components is compared to established thresholds for individual cow health problems and is studied to increase the efficiency of milk processing.

AfiLab Functions:

Detects negative energy balance and ketosis as indicated by the fat/protein ratio.
Detects Subclinical Ruminal Acidosis (SARA) and low milk fat syndromes.
Indicates incorrect or harmful total mixed ration (TMR) formulations as reflected in reduced milk fat content at the group level.
