Noxamine

It is a fourth-generation cephalosporin, from the beta-lactam group, with a broad spectrum, high antimicrobial potency, rapid effect, and sustained action.

Indications

It is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by cefquinome-sensitive bacteria, such as: Respiratory tract infections in cattle or pigs caused by Pasteurella spp., Mannheimia spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, and Streptococcus suis. Foot infections in cattle (digital dermatitis, interdigital necrobacillosis, plantar abscesses, etc.). Acute mastitis caused by Escherichia coli. Severe generalized infections (e.g., Escherichia coli septicemia in calves and piglets).

Route of Administration

Intramuscular Species: Cattle and Pigs Dosage: Cattle: 1 mL per 25 kg of body weight every 24 hours, for 3–5 days. Pigs: 2 mL per 25 kg of body weight every 24 hours, for 2 days. Withdrawal period in milk: None. Withdrawal period in meat: Cattle: 5 days. Pigs: 3 days.
