6-point plan for mastitis control in dairy cattle.

We share this note made by Vademecum Veterinario Argentina to our head of the Technical Department Med. Vet Diego J. Gonzalez.

What is the 6-point plan?

The 6-point plan is a guide of considerations that will help the producer in their daily work.

Always thinking comprehensively about the actions to consider in prevention to avoid future treatments, our head of the Technical area Diego J. Gonzales developed a plan consisting of 6 steps that aims to control mastitis in dairy establishments.

6 Points

  1. Good hygiene in udder preparation.
  2. Use of controlled and checked milking equipment.
  3. Disinfection of teats after milking.
  4. Detection and treatment of clinical cases.
  5. Dry cow treatment of all quarters.
  6. Elimination of clinical cases.
